Women's Affairs

A specialized division working to empower Iraqi women in the media and telecommunications sectors, strengthen their participation in decision-making positions, and close the digital gender gap.

The Women's Affairs Division —
an active presence in the sector's future

Proceeding from the Commission's conviction that genuine development can be complete only through equitable participation, the Women's Affairs Division formulates and implements policies to empower women within the Commission's staff and across the media and telecommunications sectors: from building leadership and technical capacities, to ensuring a fair and motivating work environment, and supporting the access of women professionals to decision-making positions.

The Division also leads efforts to close the digital gender gap through field training programs in the governorates, partnerships with civil society organizations and peer bodies, and periodic reports that track indicators of women's presence in media institutions and licensed telecommunications companies, so that policies remain grounded in reliable figures rather than impressions.
